The Little Fox, Thornton Hough Wedding Photographer | Jade + Phil

When Jade and Phil reached out and told me about their wedding plans, I was immediately excited. From our first conversation, it was clear their day would be fun and full of personal touches, done exactly the way they wanted. They were married in Wallasey at St Nicholas’ Church, just down the street from Jade’s grandparents’ house, before making a quick trip to the beach for some relaxed photos with their dog, Cosmo.

Bridal prep at Jade’s mum’s

It was a busy house and everything was in full swing when I arrived. Jade was getting ready at her mum’s house with four bridesmaids, two maids of honour, her two young children, her mum and Cosmo. Hair was being done in the living room while makeup was happening in the kitchen, and breakfast was cooking. Jade’s maids of honour helped her into her dress before the big reveal. Then it was time to collect the flowers, which had been dropped off at her grandparents’ house just a few minutes’ walk from the church. It was lovely to capture Jade’s grandad and her father seeing her in her dress for the first time, in a house full of memories.

Ceremony at St Nicholas’ Church, Wallasey

It was my first time at St Nicholas’ Church, which is such a bright and beautiful space for a ceremony. Jade walked with her grandad to the church before her dad took her arm to walk her down the aisle. Phil had to wipe away a few tears upon first seeing Jade. The ceremony was lovely, with readings from Jade’s grandparents and singing from the vicar and Owen, a musician Jade and Phil had seen performing in Ireland and asked to sing at their wedding. After the ceremony, we lined up for confetti before Jade and Phil headed to the nearby beach for some photos.

Reception and party at The Little Fox

Next, we headed to The Little Fox, where guests were already enjoying drinks and canapés, mingling near the bar or in the outdoor space. The venue was set up for the wedding meal, and after group photos in the garden, everyone made their way inside as Jade and Phil were called into the room to huge cheers.

Amusing and heartfelt speeches followed from Jade’s father, her grandmother, the maids of honour, Phil and his two best men. Food was served from the outdoor kitchen, and later Jade and Phil slipped away for a few more couple photos on the tree-lined driveway and out front. They were soon drawn back to the party by Owen, who got the crowd going with an energetic solo performance. The party never really let up as DJ Mickey kept the dance floor moving with classic tunes. Everyone had an amazing time, and it was such a joy to capture.

If you’re planning your wedding at The Little Fox and like my creative, hands-off approach to wedding photography, I’d love to hear about your plans, take a look at an autumn wedding I captured here too.

We absolutely love our wedding photos thank you so much! Looking through them made us feel like we were there and you captured the day so perfectly!
