The Barn at Botley Hill Wedding Photographer | Jessye + James

Barn at Botley Hill wedding photographer

I had a fantastic time shooting at The Barn at Botley Hill for the first time. It was such a wonderful day, and it was great to capture some precious moments of Jessye and James with their friends, family, and even their adorable dog, Teddy. Some of Jessye's family came from New Zealand to celebrate the occasion, which made the day even more unforgettable.

At the start of the day, I joined Jessye, her mum, and the bridal party at a charming farmhouse nearby. It was a fun and relaxed atmosphere as they enjoyed drinks and got ready for the big day. The soundtrack for the morning included The Spice Girls, Five, and even the Barbie soundtrack.

When I arrived at The Barn at Botley Hill, the sun was shining bright, and guests were already starting to arrive. They gathered around the tipi bar, enjoying a quick drink before the ceremony. James looked sharp in a dark green velvet blazer, greeting guests and preparing for the proceedings. Jessye arrived in a white stretched limo with her bridesmaids and her dad, looking stunning and ready to walk down the aisle.

Relaxed photography in a rustic wedding barn

The ceremony was held in The Oakley Barn, where Teddy had the crucial role of ring bearer. After the confetti exit, guests made their way to the nearby wedding barn, a luxurious rustic barn located in the beautiful Surrey Hills, which offers stunning views of the North Downs. With barely a cloud in the sky - most guests took advantage of the outdoor area for reception drinks and canapés. We also took the opportunity to capture some group photos and relaxed photos of the newlyweds and their four-legged companion before making our way inside for the speeches, followed by the meal.

As the afternoon turned into evening, we were blessed with a breathtaking sunset. This was the perfect opportunity for Jessye and James to take a leisurely walk together, and I was able to capture some very relaxed photos of them. After the walk, it was time for the cocktail hour as the sun was setting. We then moved inside for the first dance and dancing, and it was a wonderful evening filled with joy and celebration.
